How It
Works

01

Initial Inquiry

Reach out through the contact page or project deck. We will follow up to discuss your unit, mission environment, timing, and general feasibility.

02

PAO Coordination

We align on scope, access, escort requirements, OPSEC guidance, imagery restrictions, and review procedures with the appropriate Public Affairs, COMMSTRAT, and command representatives.

03

Embedded Assignment

Assignments are produced with a minimal footprint, typically Justin L’Heureux and, when needed, one or two cinematographers. The team operates only within approved areas and boundaries.

04

Review And Release

Participating organizations maintain review and approval authority prior to the release of any imagery or motion assets. Nothing is released without the appropriate sign off.

Common
Questions

Who covers the cost of the team?

The Embedded Archive is currently self initiated and independently produced. There is no cost to the participating unit or command for standard access based assignments.

How long is a typical embed?

Duration depends on the mission, schedule, and access availability. Assignments may range from a single training day to multiple days during larger exercises or operational windows.

Who retains rights to the imagery?

The Embedded Archive retains the archive and copyright to the work. Participating units may receive approved usage rights for official public affairs, recruiting, social media, historical documentation, and communication purposes.

What clearances or access levels are required?

The project is designed for unclassified environments and operates within the OPSEC, safety, escort, and access guidance established by command and Public Affairs.

Will imagery be reviewed before release?

Yes. Imagery and motion assets follow the appropriate Public Affairs, COMMSTRAT, OPSEC, and command review process before public release.
